PUBLIC NOTICE
CHATHAM AREA TRANSIT AUTHORITY
TITLE VI AND EQUITY ANALYSIS
CAT FERRY MAINTENANCE FACILITY AND FERRY DOCK
Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) has conducted a Title VI and Equity Analysis to determine whether the sites selected for the ferry maintenance facility and ferry dock will disproportionately impact or burden people on the basis of race, color or national origin. The site selected for the ferry maintenance facility is a singular parcel located on Hutchinson Island, that is currently owned by CAT. The dock will be located on the Savannah River connected to a concrete platform on a building that is part of a new mixed-used development.
CAT’s Title VI and Equity Analysis for the Ferry Maintenance Facility and Ferry Dock will be available for public inspection for 30 days from the date of this notice, by appointment only at the Authority’s administrative office located at 900 E. Gwinnett Street, Savannah, GA 31401 or below.
CAT wishes to engage interested parties in this process and will hold a public meeting on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center Board Room, 610 W. Oglethorpe Ave. in order to solicit feedback. A presentation providing an overview of the project will be provided followed by an opportunity for public questions, comments and discussion.
Additionally, a virtual presentation is available online below (https://www.catchacat.org/about-cat/title-vi/) beginning March 23, 2022 explaining the Title VI and Equity Analysis process and results. Participants will be able to provide input on the comment forms or by emailing them to mariate.echeverry@aecom.com by noon on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Pursuant to provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in this meeting is asked to contact Mariate Echeverry at mariate.echeverry@aecom.com at least 72 hours before the meeting.
