The Chatham Area Transit Authority Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center (610 W. Oglethorpe Avenue).

April 5th – Mayor and County Day of Recognition for National Service

square logo for Mayor and County Recognition Day for National Service with AmeriCorps seal and Senior Corps sealThe Mayor and County Day of Recognition for National Service is a nationwide effort to recognize the positive impact of national service in communities, to thank those who serve–such as through AmeriCorps and Senior Corps–and to encourage citizens to give back to their communities. Join them at the public event hosted by the Economic Opportunity Authority, Step Up Savannah, and Senior Citizens, Inc. at 618 W. Anderson Street at 11:15 AM.

April 8th – Paint The Town Maroon

Throughout the county, we’ll also be offering FREE rides to current Armstrong students, faculty, staff, and alumni representing ASU by wearing maroon or by showing their Armstrong ID.

 

April 13th – Monthly Public Meeting

people in a group talkingAt the suggestion of our customers, we have implemented regularly occurring public meetings. These monthly meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Transit Center at 6:00 PM. Come speak with CAT staff! We want to hear your feedback. Join us at the Transit Center (610 W. Oglethorpe Ave.) at 6:00 PM.

April 16th – Earth Day Savannah Festival

Held in Forsyth Park from 12:00-5:00 PM, this is the City’s largest environmental outreach event of the year and the largest education event in conjunction with Earth Day in Georgia. Whether as a vendor, volunteer, or visitor, get involved!

April 19th – CAT Board Meeting

board roomCAT Board Meetings are regularly scheduled on the third Tuesday of each month at the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center at 10:00 AM. These meetings are open to the public. April 23rd – Neighborhood Empowerment: Anti-Crime Strategies for Community Leaders

April 29th – 20th Annual Fair Housing Luncheon

Fair Housing Luncheon flyer for April 29, 2016The Savannah-Chatham County Fair Housing Council will hold its 20th Annual Fair Housing Luncheon & Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the EOA Administration Building at 1120 May St. from 12:00-2:00 PM. The Fair Housing Council was formed to provide equal housing opportunity without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex or gender, familial status or disability. Traditionally, April has been recognized as Fair Housing Month to coincide with the signing of the federal Fair Housing Act. The local theme for this year’s event is Fair Housing: Shared Opportunity in Every Community.

April 30th – LIFE Inc. Wheelchair Cleaning

LIFE wheelchair cleaning flyer with rubber duckiesLiving Independence for Everyone, Inc. (LIFE) invites the public to their annual wheelchair cleaning event at 5105 Paulsen Street from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. Enjoy snacks and entertainment while they make your transport sparkle!

Currently enrolled paratransit clients can receive free transportation. Call us at (912) 354-6900.
