CAT to resume all services on Friday

ALL TRANSIT SERVICES WILL RESUME OPERATIONS ON FRIDAY

Savannah, GA — Chatham Area Transit (CAT) customers can plan to take their normal bus routes Friday morning. All routes will operate as well as paratransit service after being suspended Thursday due to Hurricane Michael.

On Thursday, CAT’s operations team evaluated road conditions, removed debris from bus stops, and inspected the fleet and facilities while services were suspended. Ferry service was restored at 2:30 p.m.

“We are extremely grateful that the impact of the storm was less than expected allowing us to return to normal operations so quickly,” Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer Curtis Koleber said.

CAT Mobility customers can book trips as normal and the CAT ticket window, located at the transit center will reopen and follow normal business hours tomorrow. “We know that our bus services are vital to the community; however, the difficult decision to suspend our services is for the safety of our staff and our customers,” Koleber added.

Customers are encouraged to continue to monitor CAT’s website (catchacat.org) and social media for further updates.
