February 1-16 - Savannah Black Heritage Festival
The 23rd Annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival kicks off its celebration on February 1, 2012, and will continue through Thursday, February 16th with some pre- and post-festival events. Each year, the festival presents programs and activities in the performing and visual arts for every age and every interest in school settings and in the public domain. Fun and family are emphasized throughout the celebration.

All events and activities promote cultural education and are open and free of admission to the general public, although some may require a free reserved-seat ticket for admission. Visit the website for more information.

February 2-11 - Georgia History Festival
Georgia History Festival
, formerly known as Georgia Days, is the signature K-12 educational program of the Georgia Historical Society.  Held annually around the anniversary of the founding of the colony of Georgia on February 12, 1733, this commemoration brings history to life for students of all ages through a variety of programs including a series of school events and curriculum, crafts workshops, the two-day Colonial Faire and Muster living-history program held at Wormsloe State Historic Site, and the colorful Georgia Day parade. February 10th - CAT Board Meeting
Our monthly Board Meetings are open to the public, so come on out and see your local government at work. Visit our Board of Directors page by clicking on the link above to find out future meeting dates, the agenda planned for each meeting, and copies of minutes from past meetings.

February 11th - MLK Jr. Unity Luncheon
The Savannah International Trade and Convention Center is hosting the Martin Luther King Observance Day luncheon today. CAT's Outreach Coordinator will be there, and the event is open to the public.

February 14th - Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day!

February 15-19 - Savannah Book Festival
This President's Day weekend, the Savannah Book Festival will be back in Telfair Square with author discussions, readings, and book signings. This festival is an annual world-class literary event bringing over 35 popular and critically acclaimed authors and thousands of readers together in historic Savannah, Georgia. February 17-19

Savannah Irish Festival
The organizers of the Savannah Irish Festival invite you to join them for a fun-filled weekend to kick-off the Savannah St. Patrick's Day festivities with their celebration of Irish culture featuring Traditional Irish Music, Irish Dancing, and plenty of laughter. Four stages of continuous live entertainment bring fun for the entire family throughout the February 17th - 19th, 2012 weekend. Click to visit their website for more information.

Southern Women's Show
The Southern Women's Show returns for its 9th year this weekend. Described as 'jam-packed with cool jewelry and handbags, make-up tips and tricks, delicious gourmet treats and more,' the show also includes runway fashion shows, cooking classes, and speakers. Visit the website to learn more and buy tickets, and then ride a free Savannah Belles Ferry over to the International Trade and Convention Center for the show.

February 20th - Revised Passenger Schedules

Our updated passenger schedules are in circulation and in effect today! They include our new Holiday Service times (for MLK Jr Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day), and they have been revised with the adjustments that you, our customers, told us would improve your ride. February 27-March 4th - PULSE, Art & Technology Festival

Presented free of charge thanks to project funding from the City of Savannah and additional support from iTech for Business and Georgia Council for the Arts, PULSE is the Telfair Museums’ Art and Technology Festival. It offers exciting exhibitions, performances, lectures, workshops, and events celebrating technology and creative innovation, with this year’s featured exhibition of a 10-year survey of work by renowned light sculptor Leo Villareal. Telfair’s education department also presents pre-PULSE youth and adult workshops the weekend before the festival begins. Advance registration is required for all workshops; visit their website to learn more.

February 29th - Downtown Groundbreaking Ceremony

After more than 10 years of progress and delays, the Downtown Intermodal Transit Facility is finally being built! This morning we celebrate with citizens and dignitaries the Groundbreaking Ceremony at the Greyhound Station on W. Oglethorpe.
