In response to the first major overhaul of our fixed route service in 20 years, you, our valued customers, gave us some great feedback. And hopefully you have noticed the recent adjustments to our service as we continue to try to meet your needs. To that end, we have compiled the following list of service updates that we present to you here in one convenient place.
2 West Chatham
A trip has been added on Saturdays. It leaves from Broughton at MLK, Jr. Blvd at 2:30 p.m. going to the airport, and it leaves the airport at 3:23 p.m. headed downtown.
3B Augusta Avenue
A trip has been added on weekdays. It leaves from Broughton at Montgomery St. at 11:35 p.m. and will service Cloverdale and Carver Heights upon request only. It leaves from 3rd at Minus St. at 12:05 a.m. headed downtown.
10 East Savannah
The first trip to downtown on weekdays and Saturdays begins at Gregory at Riverview Dr. at 5:45 a.m. A bus will also leave from Broughton St. at 10:30 p.m. to go as far out as Georgia at Bonaventure Rd.
14 Abercorn
Weekday trips heading outbound service the Rose of Sharon Apts. at 9:12 a.m., 11:42 a.m., 1:42 p.m. and 5:42 p.m. Inbound trips leaving the Walmart at Montgomery Cross Rd. at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6:32 p.m. will also serve Rose of Sharon Apts.
A new bus stop has been installed on Abercorn in front of the JEA for service outbound on the 14.
14 Abercorn Local & 114 Abercorn Express
The bus stop that was formerly at Holland at Abercorn has been moved back toward Savannah Toyota for safety purposes.
114 Abercorn Express
This route now services Janet Dr. on Abercorn on outbound trips.
An additional trip has been added on weekdays leaving downtown at 6:25 p.m. and leaving the Savannah Mall at 7:18 p.m.
Timetables have been amended to ensure that the 114 arrives after the 14 local at the Oglethorpe Mall for smoother transfers.
28 Waters
The Saturday trip leaving Broughton at MLK at 6:05 a.m. serves Hodgson Memorial on the outbound trip ONLY. Leaving Walmart at 7:03 a.m., this 28 takes Montgomery Cross Rd. to Waters Ave. and travels downtown.
New rule for Bicycles
When the bike rack on the front of the bus is full, an additional bike may be brought onto the bus to remain securely in the wheelchair area with its owner IF THAT SPACE IS AVAILABLE. With this option, however, we ask everyone to please remember to be courteous to each other and that safety is still our top priority.
